Logo Design, Brand Strategy
KLAYHOUSE is a Chicago based brand that serves as an umbrella for multiple pursuits, including a line of shea butter products called KLAY BUTTER, music under the artist name KLAY HENDRX, and future plans for a mobile app that will provide support and guidance to musical artists.
The brand seeks to give people their own small rituals, and encourage creating from within.
The brand mark features a hand drawn illustration of a modern adobe home, a traditional earthen-brick building method. The dwelling is a symbol that represents shelter and nourishment for the body and the creative process of the artist.
The logotype uses modified Ohno Blazeface. The combinations of image and type are suitable for use across product packaging, digital media, and merchandising. The color palette was inspired by "Wild Clay" by Hitomi Shibata, Matt Levy, and Takuro Shibata, a resource for ceramic artists.
