Logo Design and Brand Strategy
Fly Maria, Fly! is the Chicago based duo Akeem (vocals and keys) and Matt Audio Dope (producer, vocals, and the magic behind the desk). Drawn together by a mutual determination to urgently chase their dreams, the musical project marks a deviation from their work as individual artists.
The FMF logo draws inspiration from the fashion photography of Erwin Blumenfeld and Irving Penn. Featuring a pictorial mark inspired by the makeup of 20th century opera singer and glamour icon Maria Callas, the logo reflects the importance of fashion to the music duo.
Three variations of the logo are included — an abbreviated treatment in addition to square and horizontal arrangements. This allows for a variety of combinations of type and image, suitable for use across digital media, print and merchandising applications.
